The Hartford County resident, Steven Lamoureux, age 46, of Farmington, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 30 for one count of sexual assault following an investigation by Farmington Police.

According to Farmington Police Lieutenant Tim McKenzie, Lamoureux had been the subject of a similar complaint in New Haven and police believe there could be other victims.

An advanced practice registered nurse, Lamoureux, came under investigation after a complaint was filed in July for performing what he called a "relaxation technique," on a medical patient during an office visit, police said.

The act Lamoureux performed was not in accordance with standard medical care and was outside the scope of his medical license and care, McKenzie said.

Farmington Detectives worked in conjunction with the Department of Public Health to investigate the violation against Lamoureux.

They learned that he had been the subject of a complaint about previous inappropriate conduct while he was employed by the Internal Medicine Practice of Greater New Haven in 2018, McKenzie added.

If you were subjected to inappropriate medical care by Lamoureux, contact the Farmington Detective Unit at 860-675-2400 or local law enforcement.
